PEREZ CARAMÉS WINERY started more than fifty years ago, Paco Pérez was a wine enthusiast convinced that great things could be done in his region, El Bierzo. He also believed they had to be done respecting the environment and nature.

Nowadays, Pablo his nep hew follows the path his uncle drew out. Together with his wife Noelia, who is the oenologist of the winery, they have gone for ecological agriculture. As well as looking after the vineyard they also make an effort to put in all their energy in the surroundings. This way peach, cherry, apple and fig trees grow between the vines, sheltering many types of birds

and plants that contribute to making wines with their own character, with endless colour shades, freshness and fruit.

Wild grapevines grow in 32 hectares of vineyard and produce long lasting wines, with less minerality but that improve with ageing. They make unfiltered wine, without added yeast where the fermentation is controlled in tanks.

Noelia and Pablo know that their customers look for different things in wine. They are people able to value wine that grows where white wagtails, tawny owls, peregrine falcons and blackbirds live, all this in the landscape of El Toleiro.
